Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen will release a new single, “Die Alive”, in Europe on March 7 via Universal Music. The track listing for the CD is as follows:

New Jersey-based symphonic/power metallers OPERATIKA have inked a deal with Scarlet Records. The band will release its debut CD, “The Calling”, in the spring. According to a press release, the album has been described as “the perfect combination of singer Slava Popova’s harmonious operatic vocals, powerful guitar riffs and solos,
melodic keyboard harmonies, intense bass (handled by Michael LePond of SYMPHONY X) and fierce drumming” — a “must-have for every fan of NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS, HELLOWEEN, CHILDREN OF BODOM and PRIMAL FEAR.” (more…)

CHILDREN OF BODOM will release its new album, “Blooddrunk”, in North America on April 15 via Spinefarm/Fontana International. The CD is due in Europe on April 7 via Spinefarm Records (two days later in Finland). Check out the album artwork below.
“Blooddrunk” was recorded and produced by Mikko Karmila at Petrax and Finnvox studios in Finland during October, November and December 2007, except vocals, which were recorded by Peter Tägtren, and keyboards, which were recorded by Janne Wirman at Petrax studios, Finland, during October, November and December 2007. Austrian metallers Belphegor will release their upcoming album entitled “Bondage Goat Zombie” on 11 April in Europe (North America 15 April). The album features artwork in classic and disturbing Belphegor style and can be seen below. Some of the nine brand new tracks will deal with the writings of the infamous Marquis de Sade.
After a five-year absence, France’s CELESTIA returns with its long-awaited sophomore album, entitled “Frigidiis Apotheosia: Abstinencia Genesiis“, due out in January via Paragon Records in America, and Apparitia Recordings in Europe. This follow up to 2002’s “Apparitia: Sumptuous Spectre” will continue on in CELESTIA’s tradition of dark romantic and melancholic black metal. This time enhanced with a more intellectual and personal approach.

as you might have noticed, After Forever experienced a lot in 2007. A new deal with Nuclear Blast and The Entertainment Group, the release of a new album, gigs in Europe and the U.S.A./Canada, all thanks to your support. Unfortunately, 2007 also had a negative side. Artisan News Service has posted a short video interview with legendary heavy metal drummer Vinny Appice (HEAVEN AND HELL, DIO, BLACK SABBATH) in which he confirms that the songwriting sessions for the new album from HEAVEN AND HELL — the band featuring Appice alongside vocalist Ronnie James Dio, bassist Geezer Butler and guitarist Tony Iommi - will begin in April 2008.
