The cover artwork for “Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder“, the new album from British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH, can be viewed below.

“Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder” will be released on October 28 via Roadrunner Records. The 72-minute effort, which will have a special edition with an extra disc and bonus material, arrives just in time for Halloween, a holiday that fits CRADLE OF FILTH’s blackened, ghostly aesthetic. (more…)

German female-fronted gothic metallers FLOWING TEARS have set “Thy Kingdom Gone” as the title of their new album, tentatively due in October via Ascendance Records, the new label funded by Lee Barrett (founder of Candlelight Records; former member of EXTREME NOISE TERROR, TO-MERA) and A&R’d by Sam Grant (writer, promoter, broadcaster, interviewer for Sonic Cathedral online).

According to the band, the follow-up to 2004’s “Razorbliss” is “a concept album containing 12 songs” and “it has probably become the darkest and most intense one we ever did. (more…)

England’s most notorious and nefarious metal band CRADLE OF FILTH is gearing up to release its darkest, most dastardly album of all, titled “Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder”, for Roadrunner Records on October 28. The 72-minute effort, which will have a special edition with an extra disc and bonus material, arrives just in time for Halloween, a holiday that fits CRADLE OF FILTH’s blackened, ghostly aesthetic.

“Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder” is conceptual and is based on the well-documented, true-life fall from grace of a shadowy historical figure named Gilles de Rais, a wealthy French nobleman who was one of Joan of Arc’s brothers-in-arms. (more…)

Veteran German thrasjers KREATOR entered the Titonus studios in Berlin on July 20 to begin recording the highly anticipated follow-up to its 2005 release “Enemy of God”.

Commented KREATOR mainman Mille Petrozza: “We’ve finished recording basic tracks for nine songs, one more to go. This album is a new experience for both band and producer [Moses Schneider].”

“The Metal Maniac Festival which was set to take place this Saturday july the 26th in
Baia Mare, Romania is postponed for a latter date. The show was postponed because

San Diego, California-based death metal/grindcore trio PATHOLOGY has announced the addition of singer/second guitarist Mason Gregory (ELEMENT) to the group’s ranks. The band says, “We have been working hard perfecting our sound and preparing for shows and tours. . . Levi Fuselier (DISGORGE) will no longer be doing the vocals for PATHOLOGY. We appreciate his time and effort and wish him the best of luck in the future.”
