“No More Silence” is the debut release by Romanian Gothic/Symphonic Metal band True Mind. The band is active since the end of 2006 and garnered quite some experience playing live before recording their first EP.
The first 2 tracks “Self Anthem” and “Tainted Angel” are representative for the whole album, as they describe what is coming up next. The whole album is centered on the voice of the female lead vocal Anna and the keyboard of Vlad. The guitar is not quite as loud and as persistent as it should be, although there are some nice melodic guitar leads.
Typically though, the guitar tends to sound a bit thin if it is used to support the overall melody, first time the band employs a real heavy rhythm guitar is in the song “Stop Killing Them”, instantly increasing the heaviness of the song.
The final song on the EP is a little slower than the rest and has the job of ending the first EP of True Mind. In Angel or Sin you can finally hear the guitar and some drums without any real effort.
The production is crystal clear and the band managed created a professional image with their cover art, website design and band photo’s.
The vocals are handled by Anna who has a clean style of singing bordering on operatic. She sounds pretty good, but there are some moments where she seems to be singing near the top of her range, which is a shame, because she can really sing.
The drums are weak all through the album and I hope that in the album these problems are gonna be solved.

All in all this is a good debut for a Romanian band and we are expecting the first True album.
